  African Sports Management extends South Africa International Pairs Franchise and also acquires Franchise for Southern African Countries

Golf Partners Worldwide is delighted to have agreed to an extension to the International Pairs franchise for South Africa, effective from 2018 and running for an additional five years, to 2023. The franchise is run by African Sports Management who run the Windhoek International Pairs, and the team has also acquired the franchise rights for Southern Africa, which includes Angolo, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe, and will continue to grow the International Pairs brand throughout Southern Africa golfing regions.

Golf has continued its steady growth in Southern Africa and Gerhard Conradie, Managing Director, ASM said “We are delighted to have secured the extension to our franchise and increasing our countries for International Pairs, an event that has a long history here in South Africa and we can now look to increase the brand throughout Southern Africa.”

After many years of hosting International Pairs in Scotland, Golf Partners Worldwide decided to move the event out of the ‘Home of Golf’ to sunnier climes of Javea, Spain 2014 /15. This year we are pleased to announce that the International Pairs World Final 2017 will be staged in Portugal at the 5 stars Penina Hotel & Golf Resort and will be played between 6th – 10th November 2017 on the fantastic Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course, which has previously hosted the Portuguese Open.

3 Year agreement signed to host International Pairs World Final

Golf Partners Worldwide, are delighted to announce that agreement has been reached with JJW Hotels to host International Pairs World Finals for the next three years.

JJW Hotels & Resorts owns and operates an extensive collection of luxury hotels, resorts, golf courses, spas and restaurants all over Europe. In Portugal, JJW boasts three luxury hotels, five golf courses, and world-renowned centers of golfing excellence.

The 2019 International Pairs World Final will be hosted for the 3rd time in Portugal at the world-famous 5 stars Penina Hotel & Golf Resort with the event being staged on the Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course, a frequent holder of the Portuguese Open, and was the first course to be constructed in the Algarve.

Season 5 of the WLIPSA is now open for clubs to register.

Make sure your club has entered and give yourself and your partner the possible opportunity to qualify for the World Finals in Portugal in 2020.

You can only qualify at the club where you are an affiliated member, so make sure your club is participating.


Great changes for Season 5

Important Changes for Season 5:

  • Handicap increase—men to 32, ladies to 36
  • No more 75% of handicap at Regionals
  • Any Better-ball competition now allowed (as long as both players must enter their score)
  • Ladies Only division with qualifying events now added
